Onboarding a new device

How to log into the dashboard from a device you have never registered before.

Registering a credential on a second device ensures you can still access your account if your primary device is lost, stolen, or unavailable. Since passkeys have no password fallback, having credentials on multiple devices is the simplest form of account resilience.

1. On the existing device

On the connected device, head to your Profile page and click “Register a device”.

Validate the action using your existing passkey.

A 9-character code is displayed. Note that this code is only valid for 60 seconds.

2. On the new device

Open https://app.dfns.io/register-device in your browser.

For easy access from a mobile device you can scan this QR Code

Enter the code you received on the first device.

Then register you passkey on that new device.

Now both devices can be used to access the dashboard!
